Video call Elssa is a mobile app developed by TOSSINGAME LTD that lets you have simulated video calls with a fictional character named Elssa. It's essentially a fun, lighthearted tool for pranking friends or just passing the time with a fake incoming call. The app falls under the entertainment and simulation genre, and the developer has been around for a while, releasing similar apps for other characters. It first popped up on the Google Play store a couple of years back, and you can also find it on the Apple App Store if you're an iOS user. From what I've seen, it's free to download, and it doesn't force you to create an account just to try it out. You can get it right away without any registration hassle. That said, there are in-app purchases if you want to unlock extra features, and yes, there are ads, which is pretty standard for a free app of this kind.

When you open the app, the whole thing is pretty straightforward. You pick a scenario, hit the button to initiate the fake call, and Elssa pops up on your screen acting like she's really talking to you. She has a few different responses and reactions, which keeps it from getting too repetitive. A tip I picked up: if you want the prank to be more believable, set the call volume a bit low and hold the phone at a slight angle, so it doesn't look like a static image. Also, you can schedule the fake call to come in at a specific time, which is great for setting up a prank in advance. The app is simple enough that you'll figure it out in under a minute, but playing around with the different call scenarios is where the fun really is.

Compared with other similar apps out there, like Fake Call - Prank or Voice Changer with Effects, Video call Elssa stands out because it's more than just a fake ringing screen. It actually shows a video of a character talking, which a lot of the alternatives don't do. I remember trying a few other prank call apps from the Google Play store, and they either felt clunky or the graphics looked cheap. This one feels a bit more polished, and the character is more engaging. I guess that's why I stuck with this one instead of deleting it after a week like I did with the others. It's not a daily driver sort of app for me, but when I need a quick laugh with my mates, it does the job perfectly.

• 🎥 The standout feature is the lifelike video simulation. Unlike simple fake call apps that just show a static contact screen, Elssa actually appears on your display, moving and speaking as if she's really on a video call. I compared it with a popular app called Fake Call - Prank, and honestly, that one just shows a fake UI with a black screen or a stock photo. This app feels way more immersive, which makes pranks land a lot better.
• 🛠️ There's a decent variety of call scenarios built in. You've got options like a "busy colleague" call, a "forgot something" call, or even a "romantic surprise" one. Each has its own script, so you can pick the one that fits your situation. It's not just one generic fake call, which is what you get with most free tools on the Google Play store. That variety keeps me coming back to it.
• ⏰ Scheduling is a big plus for me. You can set the fake call to trigger at a specific time, and it'll come through automatically even if you're not in the app. I used this once to get out of a boring meeting at work, and it worked like a charm. Other similar apps don't always have this feature built in, or they push it behind a paywall, so having it readily available here is a nice bonus.

• 📲 The app is super easy to install from the Google Play store, and it doesn't hog your phone's storage. It's a lightweight download, so I didn't have to clear out photos to make room for it.
• 🎭 It feels more realistic than other apps like "Prank Call Simulator" because the character's movements are smoother and the audio sync is better. That realism makes a huge difference when you're trying to fool someone.
• 🎯 It's a free install, and the basic features work without needing to spend a penny. That's rare these days where most apps push you to pay right away, so I appreciate that the core prank function is genuinely usable.

• 📉 The app lacks a variety of characters. It's just Elssa, and that's it. Other apps, like "Fake Caller Pro," let you pick from multiple avatars, so this gets a bit boring after a while if you're not into her specific style.
• 🚫 There's no offline mode. You need a stable internet connection for the video to load properly, which is a letdown in areas with poor signal. Some similar apps don't have that problem.
• 💸 The ads can get quite intrusive. While the app is free, a banner pops up every couple of minutes, and occasionally a full-screen ad interrupts the call. It's a trade-off that I get, but it does break the immersion when you're in the middle of a prank.
